Cafe Wha? offers a great live music option in the Village. I was in New York to celebrate by daughter’s 17th birthday and wanted to take her somewhere to listen to some music – which was a challenge as so many places are 21+. I made reservations for the early show at Cafe Wha? as their website indicated that the early show was all ages. I strongly recommend making reservations as this place filled up really fast and that was for the early show. There was an MC, an opening comedian and then the house band. The house band was fantastic -playing eclectic and popular covers – across genres and time periods. I wouldn’t recommend Cafe Wha? for young kids but it is great for teens and definitely for grown ups! The food was meh but the cocktails were decent. There was a minimum charge for the table but it was easy to meet with a couple of drinks and some nachos. There was no cover for the entertainment at the early show but some events or ticketed so check the website.
