The other fast taco joints – ick, blah, why?? I know I am the minority, but I have yet to enjoy anything from those larger taco chains. Luckily, here in Fort Lauderdale, we have a local counter service Mexican restaurant that has blossomed within our community.
Their consistently fresh fish tacos, stuffed to the brim burritos, Mexican beers and their to die for queso are what makes the Whole Enchilada so popular. First timers should try the One fish (two grilled mahi tacos stuffed with cabbage, avocado, cilantro sauce and lime) and/or the Red Burrito (steak, cheese, rice, guacamole, beans and sour cream). We have been known to stop here just for queso fix and grilled shrimp after a long day on the beach. The outdoor seating is convenient for those of us with sandy toes or a dog & kids in tow (even if the view is of US 1). The service is always friendly and they will bring your food to your table.
It’s this combination of good food and service that has converted numerous friends, family and other former Chipotle junkies.
Viva la Whole Enchilada!
