I am a newbie to yoga – in fact, a year ago when I started my goals were to become more flexible, and avoid knocking my teeth out or drowning in my own sweat. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
Now I go to yoga at least 4 or 5 times a week and actively seek it out when I travel – I can usually find a class anywhere, rent or borrow a mat and yoga clothes take up very little room in my bag.
The Yoga Joint in Fort Lauderdale is the place to go if you are similarly inclined. Tons of options for classes and if you are there for any period of time you can do a 2 week unlimited pass for $30 – you can only do that once though then it is $18 a class or you can buy a package. They have mats and towels for rent but if you plan on going a few times borrow one from your hotel or buy a cheapie that you can leave behind because it will likely be cheaper.
Don’t worry if there are advanced people standing on their heads and shit. No one expects that of you – classes are good for all levels. This is a teacher training academy as well so there are some crazy advanced peeps. That isn’t me at all and I do fine there.
