I’m french, so you would think I would know everything about french soul food. However, since doggies aren’t allowed at this joint, I had to stay home, but the hoomans won’t stop talking about it! They went with a large group and ordered a little bit of everything off the menu, and every single thing was raved over. The crawfish beignets for starting the meal were to die for! Picture puffed dough with a Cajun sauce, chives and crawfish with a kick. If they had to pick a favorite entree, it would be either the shrimp and grits or the sweet potato dumplings (pictured). Their next adventure will be to visit Brenda’s for breakfast. This is one of the most popular breakfast joints in the city, with a line often hours long, so go early to get a spot. They have amazing homemade biscuits for dinner, so we can only imagine how good they would be for breakfast. The atmosphere is lively and everyone has a smile on their face as they enjoy food made for the soul.
