If you’re visiting San Francisco, definitely make this one of your “to do’s”. Yes, many ferries depart from here during the day, but that’s just the small of it. This beautiful long corridor is packed full of everything local. Local foods from cheese and meat shops, bakeries, wineries, creameries, and even a whole shop dedicated to mushrooms! There are also locally crafted goods from bags to ceramics. My moms takes me here for a delicious treat during the weekends. Our favorite stand in the Ferry Building is the Biscuit Bender. They have tons of fresh-made biscuits in a variety of flavors. Our favorite is the bacon maple biscuit with bourbon bacon jam! We will get one of these and a latte from Blue Bottle Coffee and sit outside and watch the boats, the bay bridge, and my personal favorite, the birds (they’re fun to chase). If you happen to visit on a Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday, you can check out the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, located in front. You can really get a taste…literally…of the local culture of San Francisco here. There’s always something new and fun to explore.
