If you have time to visit the entire island of Sardegna, you will have the opportunity to enjoy many different types of beach landscapes. If you only have a long week-end, then Stintino is our top choice. Its crystal clear waters are breathtaking and offer a relaxing respite from the crowded beaches in Liguria, if you time your trip right. We visited in early June: the water temperature was just right, and it was easy to find places to eat without the usually mandatory prenotazione (reservation). While visiting Stintino, be sure to take a day out to drive to the nearby town of Alghero (you’ll probably be flying into Alghero anyway). Its old town offers charming walks in and around the old fort. This hotel is extremely kid friendly with activities organized for most of the day, including dance shows, with participation of the little ones, right after dinner. If you can, call the hotel in advance and ask for a second floor room as those are much nicer and offer a seaside view. (In general, the rooms are comfortable, but quite basic).
