Trattoria del Pescatore Milan, Lombardy, Italy

Sardinian experience in Milano

Italy is a country of regional nuances. As such, each region prides itself in its specific cuisine. This is why it’s a bit strange to write a review for a Sardinian restaurant in Milano. However, this place is hands down the best seafood place we’ve ever been to. Located in close to Porta Romana, its outside appearance wouldn’t make you turn around or look inside. Inside though, the Trattoria del Pescatore is decorated in a warm, casual style. The staff seems more like a family than co-workers. If you arrive close to 8 pm (evening opening time), you will see them sharing their meal together. Don’t bother ordering a menu. Just ask your waiter (hopefully you get Franco at your table) to bring you a bottle of Sardinian wine, the number of antipasto you want, the seafood spaghetti as primo (order 3 for 5 people, for instance) and then the asticce alla catalana. This is the best lobster dish we’ve ever tried. Pace yourself so that you make it to the end. You will be offered sardinian cheese and mirto as a digestive. Great service and amazing food!
