Okay, so you’re not going to struggle to find good food in Rome. But whilst ‘good’ is easy, excellent, best you’ve ever had, is not – and even less so at affordable prices and in the middle of the city. Mike (my hubbie) and I had been admiring the Spanish steps when it started pouring and we ran off down a side street to get shelter and we found this place. It doesn’t look much from the outside, especially as it doesn’t have any windows. But inside you’ll be bowled over by its traditional and authentic Italian charm. It’s family run and unlike the other eateries nearby in this tourist central areas it was full of Italians.
The food is simple, but utterly divine – as is the wine. It’s one of those places it doesn’t really matter what you order you know it’ll be great.
