Bora Bora is the stuff dreams and movies are made up of. Lagoons and barrier reefs, extinct volcanoes, crystal blue water and scenery so beautiful you are sure it must have been painted as a set in Hollywood. But there is no imitation here, this is WHAT is imitated. If you are looking for the most beautiful island paradise…look no further then Pearl Beach Resort and Spa. No words could ever do the Island of Bora Bora justice so when you take the plunge to visit this a island do yourself a favor and stay and the Pearl. Smaller than some of the huge chain hotels on the island you get the intimate setting without losing any of the perks. The resort has traditional hotel rooms along with beach front bungalows and the world famous over water bungalows. In fact, the Pearl was the very first resort to offer the now common over the water bungalows.
I had the pleasure of staying in one and I will never forget the beauty of the experience. Elegant thatch roof exterior with private deck and stairs into the ocean. Enter the room and it is like another world, like if a billionaire built a treehouse – over. the. ocean. The best part of the island style luxury room is a glass coffee table built as a porthole to the ocean life below. The top of the table slides back so you can feed the fish I’m not kidding – it’s like the best goldfish bowl. Ever.
The resort is open air beauty with a five star restaurant serving local dishes made of fresh ingredients. The bar has wonderful music and fantastic island drinks. The resort has a beautiful pool area to relax and enjoy the ocean and beach view. However if you have traveled all the way to Bora Bora march your booty to the beach and enjoy the aqua crystal clear water. The staff is exceptional and the service makes you feel like a movie star, so it all works.
