While enjoying the many amazing sites of Bora Bora we were dying of thirst. Not the type of thirst that water was going to fix. So we decided to ask around as to where we could quench these parched mouthes of ours while enjoying something unique and must see on the island. We were guided to Bloody Mary’s and thank goodness for the suggestion. Walking up to the place makes you smile with its island style design and entering to walk on white sand floors. This historical restaurant and bar has been welcoming guests for over 30 years. The feeling of falling in love with the place was unanimous. The bar stools were carved from coconut stumps and certainly give that Tahitian feel. After we finally stopped gazing around, we perused the menu with has a broad selection of fresh seafood, chicken, vegetarian items. The fish that are available are shown on ice and preparation can be explained in 7 languages.
The catch of the day is literally that as the fisherman bring their catch straight to the restaurant – fish so fresh it practically swims on to your plate.
There is a full menu of tropical drinks, both familiar and novel and I decided to have the house special which is the Vanilla Rhum Punch. It packs a punch alright and definitely quenches your thirst. This unique place has hosted multiple celebrity guests like Jimmy Buffet, Julio Iglesias, Goldie Hawn and many more that you can check out on the wall of photos which boasts over 230 famous faces. So if you find yourself on the amazing island of Bora Bora make sure to locate this bar, pull up a stump and enjoy a drink and do some people watching.
