The international footwear company, Bata, has had its head office in Toronto for decades. And apparently the family that started and managed it since its inception in the late 1800’s has amassed an amazing collection of footwear throughout history that it has brought together in the small jewel of the Bata Shoe Museum. From prehistoric indigenous peoples to Judy Garland’s ruby slippers there is a veritable buffet of footwear through the centuries here. Worth checking out. It is also very close to the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) so could be a combined visit.
