Fresh, fresh, fresh. That’s what springs to mind in this cozy narrow gem located on 17th Avenue in Calgary’s southwest, home to both the up and coming and the tested and true eateries that the city has seen spring up in the past decade.
Farm prides itself on sourcing its ingredients from local farms and suppliers, and the results are absolutely delicious. Saddle up to the kitchen bar and watch the cooks work their magic on the lighter fare (I’m a huge fan of their Farm Salad, a divine cocoction including Bowden Farms pulled chicken, fresh kale, and loads of roasted garlic) to the rich, slightly spicy, and bubbling bowl of incredible awesomeness that is Janice’s Mac ‘n’ Cheese.
Many flock to Farm’s weekend brunches, where the sweeter fare of their French Toast casserole served with cinnamon whip, seasonal compote, Broek Acres bacon, and luscious maple syrup may tempt you.
Farm is also a great place for some after work charcuterie – their meat cheese selections are plentiful. Naturally I can’t go without a wine flight with these savoury delights and their selection is also excellent. Before you leave you may want to check out Janice Beaton’s Fince Cheeses located in a small storefront at the back.
After a trip to the Farm – your tastebuds will be convinced that there is amazing food to be had in Southern Alberta!
