A fun afternoon awaits at Compass Cay in the Exumas, Bahamas. Although we stayed at Staniel Cay Yacht Club a few islands over, my hoomans and I got on the boat and headed over for the afternoon. It is a $10.00 docking fee and that pays for your swim with the sharks as well. The nurse sharks that inhabit the marina are very docile and it makes for some fun photos and a chance to get up close and personal with these beautiful creatures. While you’re there, they will whip up delicious burgers and hot dogs, and you can enjoy lunch on the docks. There are lots of trails to walk and beaches to see on this gorgeous island, so don’t forget to explore. The dock area is covered in awesome driftwood art pieces left by visitors and residents of the island that make this spot unique. After a lot of convincing that I wouldn’t be lunch, my moms took me down to meet the sharks. They were very friendly and told me “dogs are friends, not food”….I feel like I’ve heard that line before?
