I’ve been an Elvis fan for as long as I can remember…my earliest memories filled with ‘Hound Dog’ and ‘Love Me Tender’ playing as the backdrop and the famous ‘gold suits’ Gold album near the turntable catching my young eye. So when the chance to visit the shrine came about, I jumped at the chance. You’ve already hear about how Graceland is smaller than you expect but there’s still something ‘immense’ about the place – the ostentatious jungle room, the never ending hall of gold records, the scifi TV room and the room that he originally had a slot car track- that reflects how the King thought about life. If you’re a fan, you can spend hours listening to the tracks, smirking at the cheesy movie posters and getting excited about the original Unplugged session – the famous leather clad ‘Comeback’ video showcasing Elvis at his best. Do take time to check out his car collection and grab an ice cream at the on site location… I guarantee you will see at least 1 impersonator… Or is it?
