Even though my moms was bummed about missing our flight back to San Francisco, we were quickly booked at the Westin in the Detroit Metro Airport. Our stress quickly diminished as we entered the posh hotel, beautifully decorated to be an oasis away from the chaos of the airport. This was my first time at a hotel, and they did everything to make it a comfortable stay. The staff was very welcoming to dogs and knew it must be difficult to get stuck overnight with your pooch. If you haven’t stayed at a Westin before, something that sets them apart is the bedding. It’s like a cloud, a king sized cloud in which I hogged the entire thing and left the edge for moms. Although you are right next to one of the busiest airports in the country, you will not hear a thing. The rooms are quiet which make for a very comfortable night sleep. There is a very nice restaurant in the atrium of the hotel that stays open late for later arrivals. Since I prefer eating in the comfort of my own bed, mom ordered me room service. We got some fruit and ice cream that was absolutely delicious. Moms has stayed at a Westin before and loves all of the foods they offer. They have tons of healthy choices for those on the go. If that wasn’t enough, checking out at this hotel is a breeze. They have their own security line that is linked to the main terminal so you don’t even have to go back into the main airport check in (unless you have bags to check). I definitely recommend the Westin for your next trip to Detroit, and hey, it’s even more exciting when Delta picks up the tab.
