Across from the Christmas Palace, and Pride Factory, in a slightly squidgy though up and coming area of Fort Lauderdale, is the Warsaw Coffee Company. This is brand new on the scene but I have been half a dozen times within the last 5 days so feel appropriately versed to recommend it. I have gone with hubbie, with kids, and hosted an editorial meeting there.
Owners have made over the former DMV building to be a perfect example of a fresh take on an old mid mod design. Freshly polished concrete floors, semi industrial set up softened by wood and lots of natural sunlight, set the backdrop for the yummiest pastries, decent coffee and pressed sandwiches going. The imaginative goodies are reminiscent of those found at Milk Bar in New York but with their own twist. Fruity Pebbles cookies anyone?
Pressed sandwiches are fresh, tasty and can be customized with added avocado et al. There are a number of salads and daily quiches on offer but my fave is the roasted beet salad….but the thing that is my downfall is the hazelnut brownie…chocolate, nutella, hazelnuts—maybe crack. I don’t know what else but certainly the workout regime is going to have to pick it up a bit because I am not going to be able to say no to these. Like ever.
There are a number of great corners for sitting and working- or if you are feeling all corporate and shit you can even rent some meeting rooms.
