I have been coming here since I was 8 weeks old. Smelling the smells and seeing the delicious sicilian style pizzas being pulled from the wood fired oven. This is my parent’s favorite pizza joint in the city and, well, ever, of all time. There are a few locations in San Francisco, but their favorite is in the Fillmore District on California St. It’s a great neighborhood and perfect for bringing your four legged pal. There are lots of outdoor dining options on Fillmore St, and Pizzeria Delfina has a great spot outside as well as a “parklet” in front. I am sure that is French for mini-park. I would know because I am French. Anyway, it’s where they take a few parking spots and turn it into a cute seating area. This is great for you because there is usually a wait at this place and they will serve wine and beer and let you sit at the “parklet” to wait for your table. (bonus). However although there may be a wait, it is worth it. My mom is someone who knows what she likes and orders the same thing every single time. Things that are a must order are as follows: The burrata cheese appetizer. You spread the creamy burrata on toasted garlic crostini and top it with EVOO and baby arugula, it never disappoints. Another must-order is the margarita pizza. It is done so well here and she adds prosciutto and arugula to hers to turn it up a notch. It’s to die for, and I know, because she shares. They also have a great selection of local beers and wines to enjoy. Pizzeria Delfina is a must-visit for visitors and will soon become your local favorite, as they do take-out as well for a delicious night in.
