Whilst Le Méridien Piccadilly isn’t quite as swanky as other top 5* London hotels – such as the Mandarin Oriental or the Savoy- it’s highly impressive and is ideally situation just off Piccadilly Circus. I was immediately impressed by the striking dining room, which pulls in the daylight through its glass walls and ceiling and the blend of contemporary decor and traditional artwork.
I went for Sunday brunch after bagging one of the frequent deals from their website. Unusually for a 5* London hotel/restaurant they offer a buffet with unlimited Prosecco. My deal was a steal at just £25pp and I noticed most other patrons were also deal seekers.
Whilst billed as brunch it was much more lunch orientated. The food theme was carvery with a choice of all the main types of meat and all the trimmings, as well as a wide selection of prepared salads. But the centerpiece was definitely the desert table which featured a huge assortment of exquisite cakes, pastries, puddings, cheeses and fruits. It was actually better than many top places I’ve been to for afternoon tea. I’ve also heard good things about the food in the restaurant and am planning to go back for dinner soon.
