Kensington Gardens Orangerie London, England, United-kingdom

Tea Time next to Kensington Palace

Afternoon Tea is one of those traditions you just have to try while in London.  Doing so at The Orangery at Kensington Gardens makes it a real treat.  Adjacent to the Kensington Palace and surrounded by a beautiful gardens, you really do feel like you are visiting royalty.  Having two children under 10 with me was a bit nerve racking, however unnecessarily.  We were welcomed graciously and treated as if the two children weren’t terrifying.  To my kids’ credit, they were perfectly behaved.  They each ordered the kid’s tea and loved the suggested berry flavor.  I can’t say that the sandwiches were their favorite, but both devoured the scones and pastries while I happily gobbled up their half eaten cucumber and mint sandwiches.   It was a perfect experience and treat for all three of us.
