Nazareth herself works the room, managing lineups and suggesting menu items for newbies to Ethiopian hands-on dining. Go with both the mixed vegetarian ($10) and the addictive kitfo rare spicy beef or tibs ($10) if you’re a party of two. (A party of two is also the best way to score a table quickly in the lineup.) Food is served atop injera spongy sourdough pancake with extra injera on the side. Always pack up leftovers, which are gobbled up (cold, in my home) for breakfast. Nazareth is a no-frills tiny eatery that still manages to be both mysterious and romantic.
