It was really hard to decide whether this was an eat or a do type of thing. There is a super yummy cafe that serves perfect fresh sandwiches and soups and everything in between, counter style service with tables to sit. The food market has all sorts of goodies you will want to pack in a picnic basket for later on your journey. However even if you are not hungry you need to stop here. This is a low slung building that has been here forever and has evolved and expanded to include treasures from far and wide. All inexpensive and interesting. From small wooden toys to kids, artist kits, jewelry from India, kites, beautiful pottery and a million other things you might find in a Moroccan bazaar. Or in a General Store on the Alberni highway in the middle of Vancouver Island. The sod roof is home to a herd of goats, who nibble away complacently as you head inside…be careful of falling goat poop….

This is part attraction/rest stop/shopping adventure and cafe. All of these aspects of this place are fantastic.
