Edmonton has its mainstays, but the new restaurants popping up (or disappearing as quickly) have been my interest since moving away four years ago. Woodwork is one of those joints I hope sticks around – it has some room for improvement: the food menu and wine list could be a tad more varied, but it’s a great spot for dinner any night of the week – in fact the place has been hopping whenever I stop in.
The ambience is open and casual – and is blessedly devoid of thumping electronic music and vapid waitresses that are most often found in the downtown YEG restaurants.
They have a nice charcuterie menu for the less hungry (or as a starter) and some larger plates that are also great to share.
Try the kale salad – butyou’ll need to share it. You’ll repel vampires together.
