The west side of downtown Calgary’s core isn’t known for many great restaurants. It’s a shame because there are a lot of us who don’t necessarily want a sit-down lunch but aren’t really interested in the flash-in-the-pan cafeteria food to go, either (and y’all are better than that). Depending on your afternoon meetings, (and just how up close and personal you may get with the people you are with) I highly recommend the Chick Pea, a family-run establishment serving amazing shawarma plates, falafel, and donair in plentiful, delicious servings to stay or to go. Don’t worry about the long lunch-hour line-ups. Service is quick and efficient. You’ll get heaps of beautifully roasted meats (I love their chicken) along with the various shawarma additions.
If you don’t get the garlic sauce, we can’t be friends. Do it. The price is right and you’ll ward off vampires on a very happy and full tummy!
