First of all you need to be properly dressed to do this hike. Yes, the bottom of the trail is paved with rails but the fact is you are on a mountain, where there are waterfalls. The path is uneven and can be wet, or in the winter, covered with ice. You need proper footwear and make sure you bring some water. If it isn’t the dead of winter and you want to hike to the very top of the trail, to the Ink Pots, it is well worth it. Make sure you are prepared as the top of the hike is much more difficult and uneven that the bottom. But it is well well worth it. A favorite hike that I bring all my kids on again and again, in every season.
